This facility has many features for all ages. The Nelson Sports Complex Aquatic features include: Splash Pad, leisure pool, tot pool, two diving boards, two waterslides, shaded deck area, ADA locker rooms and concession stand.

Learn to Swim (Swim Lessons)
The RM Park District Learn to Swim Program is designed to teach students to swim in an environment that is safe, educational, interactive and fun. Instructors teach a variety of skillings including: safety skills, floats, glides and swimming strokes. Group swim lessons are offered at the Nelson Sports Complex Aquatic Facility during the summer season. We offer levels 1 – 6. Also available is Tot classes and Parent/Tot classes. Private and Semi-Private lessons are offered at the Nelson Sports Complex pool. There will be a test the first day of class to determine which level is appropriate for the particpant.
RM Rapids Swim Team
This program focuses on the self improvement and skill development of the individual swimmer, while building a strong competitive team. Children ages 5-18 who are able to swim 25 yards of front crawl using rhythmic breathing, are welcome to join. Practices will be offered at both pools. Our swim team is a recreational and competitive swim program that features five age groups, 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15 & over. League meets take place on Wednesday nights. Transportation will not be provided to the meets. This program is designed to help participants improve swimming skills and techniques within a format similar to more intense year-long programs.
Aquatic Staff - Award Winning
All lifeguards are Ellis & Associates trained and certified. Ellis & Associates is a leader in the industry of lifeguard training. Guards continue their training by participating in at least 4 hours of in-service each month during the season. Ellis conducts unannounced audits on our lifeguards 3 times during the summer to assess the quality of our program and give feedback to our management staff.
