Camp Update 5/21

Important information regarding Rolling Meadows Park District summer camp.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to take a hard look at our camp operation to see if we can safely and effectively offer this experience to our community. It will not look or feel the same as usual, but we are hopeful that it will be worthwhile. Thank you to those who responded to our survey, we greatly appreciate your time and feedback.

Unfortunately, we are unable to begin camp when originally scheduled. Therefore, we are cancelling Session 1 of Camps Wonder, Soar and Quest; along with the first two-weeks of Camp Explore and all summer offerings of Camp Imagine and Dance Camp. A full or partial (Camp Explore) refund will automatically be provided.

As we continue to work on our restructured version of camp, there are a few things we know will be different. The new tentative start date for our restructured camps is June 22, 2020. The restructured camp will incorporate smaller group sizes,  separate locations allowing for little to no crossover between camp groups, increased sanitation practices, face coverings when necessary, and social distancing restrictions in accordance with Illinois Department of Public Health and CDC guidelines. While the pool will be closed and off-site field trips will not be feasible, our team is focused on maximizing outdoor play and no-touch games and activities. Camps Wonder, Soar, and Quest will continue to offer both session-based and weekly options. However, due to the need to keep camp groups separate and provide indoor shelter for each group, there may be a limited number of spaces available for registration.

If you are currently enrolled and would like to remain enrolled then no further action will be required. Those that are currently enrolled but do not feel comfortable moving forward with camp during this climate can receive a full refund. Please visit rmparks.org (or click here: http://rmparks.org/program-registration-refund-request-form) to request a refund. Registration is currently open for those that would like to newly enroll.

Further details will be shared through the camp manual on what to expect this summer, including increased safety measures, sick-child protocol, drop-off/pick-up procedures, and general activities. If you have any questions before receiving the camp manual, please feel free to contact Andrea Wilford (awilford@rmparks.org) for Camps Wonder, Soar, and Quest or Karrie Miletic (kmiletic@rmparks.org) for Camp Explore.
