Board of Park Commissioners Meeting
As a separate Municipal Governing Agency, the Rolling Meadows Park District's purpose is to provide parks, facilities and recreation programs for the children and adults of the community. The Park District's policies for operation are governed by seven elected Commissioners. Board Meetings are held the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm at Park Central, 3000 Central Road. Any person with a disability requiring a reasonable accommodation to participate in this meeting should notify the Administrative Office 72 hours in advance Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 3:30pm. 847/818-3200 x1116.

The Illinois Association of Park Districts is a nonprofit service, research and education organization that serves park districts, forest preserves, conservation, municipal park and recreation, and special recreation agencies. The association advances these agencies, their citizen board members and professional staff in their ability to provide outstanding park and recreation opportunities, preserve natural resources and improve the quality of life for all people in Illinois. Four percent of the annual dues goes towards lobbying efforts for Parks and Recreation.
An Illinois Distinguished Accredited Agency
The Rolling Meadows Park District has been a Distinguished Agency since 1996. The goal of the Illinois Distinguished Accreditation program is to improve the delivery of recreation services to the resident of Illinois. Accreditation is a voluntary program that uses a set of standards to evaluate and identify agencies throughout the state that provide exceptional Park and Recreation services to their community to improve their quality of life. The Illinois Association of Park Districts and the Illinois Park and Recreation Association has again recognized the Rolling Meadows Park District as an Illinois Distinguished Accredited Agency for 2014-2019.

Freedom of Information Act Request Form
Requests can be submitted in writing or via-email at the addresses listed above. A request form is also available at Park Central.
For black and white, letter or legal sized copies, the first fifty (50) pages are free and any additional pages will cost $0.15 a page. For color copies or abnormal size copies, the Rolling Meadows Park District can charge the actual cost of copying. The district may require the requester to disclose whether the request is for a commercial purpose or to decide whether to grant a fee waiver. The District will provide documents that are in a comprehensible format.
2024 Park Board of Commissioners Meetings
The Park District Board meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Park Board meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and are held in the Board Room located in the Administration Building of the Rolling Meadows Park District at 3000 Central Road, Rolling Meadows, Illinois, unless otherwise noted. The Mission of the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association (IPRA) is to provide and promote exceptional standards of education, networking, and resources for all professionals in the Illinois park, recreation, and conservation communities. IPRA leads the nation in providing premier education, networking, and resources for professionals in parks, recreation, and conservation.
The Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) is a nonprofit service, research, and education organization that serves park districts, forest preserves, conservation, municipal park and recreation, and special recreation agencies. The association advances these agencies, their citizen board members, and professional staff in their ability to provide outstanding park and recreation opportunities preserve natural resources and improve the quality of life for all people in Illinois.
The Rolling Meadows Park District has been accredited since 1996 and most recently, reaccredited in 2019 through the IPRA/IAPD Distinguished Accreditation program. The goal of the Illinois Distinguished Accreditation program is to improve the delivery of recreation services to the residents of Illinois through a voluntary comprehensive evaluation process. The desired result is to improve the quality of life for Illinois residents and to recognize those agencies that provide this quality service.
The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) is the leading non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of public parks, recreation, and conservation. Their work draws national focus to the far-reaching impact of successes generated at the local level. Leveraging their role in conservation, health and wellness, and social equity to improve their communities NRPA's members of park and recreation professionals and advocates are 50,000 strong and represent public spaces in urban communities, rural settings and everything in between. The Rolling Meadows Park District is a five-time finalist for the National Recreation and Park Gold Medal program recognizing excellence in Parks and Recreation (1993-1995 and 2019).
The Park District Risk Management Agency (PDRMA) is an intergovernmental risk pool offering self-insured Property/Casualty and health coverage to park districts, special recreation associations, and forest preserve/conservation districts throughout Illinois. The Rolling Meadows Park District was accredited as Excellent Level A through the PRRMA loss control program in 2008, 2010, 2013, & 2016-2019.
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), founded in 1906, represents public finance officials throughout the United States and Canada. The associations nearly 19,000 members are federal, state/provincial, and local finance officials deeply involved in planning, financing, and implementing thousands of governmental operations in each of their jurisdictions. GFOA's mission is to promote excellence in state and local government financial management. The District has earned the Distinguished Budget Award in 2014-2019.
The Rolling Meadows Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to serving businesses through the city by offering comprehensive resources and services to benefit businesses of all scopes and sizes. Businesses have the opportunity to voice concerns regarding current legislative issues, as members of the Rolling Meadows Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber also takes an active role in economic development, community/citywide promotions and educational programs. The Chamber of Commerce Recognized the Park District at its annual Circle of Success dinner for the improvements to the Community Center in 2014.
