For most of its history, Chicago produced one-third of the nation’s candy, including iconic treats like Snickers, Milky Way bars, Wrigley’s gum, Cracker Jack, Baby Ruth and Butterfinger, Tootsie Rolls, Frango Mints. Discover the fascinating history behind these candies and learn why Chicago was a hub for candymakers. Explore the vital role  immigrants played in confectionery history, uncover the origins of names like Baby Ruth and Milk Duds and enjoy a fun “candy quiz.”  Save $5 if you drive yourself.  This is held at the Itasca Park District.
