With a focus on expanding recreational opportunities for all ages, Rolling Meadows Park District officials broke ground on Tuesday, April 8 to launch major renovations at Community Center Park.
Located behind the Community Center at 3705 Pheasant Drive, the park will soon feature an exciting lineup of new amenities, including a Ninja-Warrior-style Challenge Course, Fitness Court, two dedicated pickleball courts, a 9-hole miniature golf course, and in-ground baggo and ladder ball.
“This project not only reflects our vision of providing exceptional opportunities to play, learn, and grow—it also highlights the powerful impact parks and recreation has on our community,” said Executive Director Nick Troy. “These new additions will transform how people experience Community Center Park, encouraging active and healthy lifestyles, meaningful connections with family and friends and the creation of lifelong memories.”
These additions are designed to promote outdoor play and active living, transforming Community Center Park into a vibrant, multigenerational hub where families and friends can gather, connect, and enjoy the outdoors.
The project is supported in part by a $600,000 Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR). Work is expected to be completed in August/September.
“The parks in Rolling Meadows are a hidden gem of the northwest suburbs, so we take great care in keeping them updated and accessible to all,” said Rolling Meadows Park District Board President Elizabeth Bolash. “I particularly love that this project was designed with inclusivity in mind and has a little something for residents of all ages, abilities and interests! It is perfectly placed in the center of our community for easy access along the creek path or via the community center parking lot. We are so grateful that an OSLAD grant was able to make this possible for our community.”
